Words From A Friend - Part 3

The articles for the next few weeks continue to come from a friend of mine, Alan Langstaff. Please consider his words and pray about his research.

To fully understand “Where we are headed,” we need to have some understanding of recent history. What blew up at the time of George Floyd’s death has its roots back in past decades. Let’s look briefly at some specific events and people. SAUL ALINSKY (1909-1972) was an American community activist and political theorist in Chicago. He grew impatient with the new leftist activists in the 1960’s. In his book ‘Rules for Radicals,’ (which is dedicated to Lucifer), he states, “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules” (Alinsky, 1972). When forced to do that, human agendas inevitably fall short. This gives opportunity to replace the capitalist ‘rule book’ with a socialist one. The strategy was to mobilize people in poverty en/mass to flood government agencies with demands beyond their capacity. This creates gridlock, the goal being to bring the system down. Alinsky had contact with Hillary Clinton (1971 letter (freebeacon.com), who wrote her college thesis on ‘Alinsky and His Organizing Plan.’ Also, Barak Obama taught ‘Alinsky 101’ at the University of Chicago. How much Allinsky’s concepts actually influenced Clinton and Obama is open to debate. See David Horowitz’s book ‘Barak Obama’s Rules for Revolution: The Alinsky Model’ for more information. Alinsky also inspired a couple of college professors. STRATEGY: FOR SOCIALIST REVOLUTION Richard Cloward and Frances Piven, sociologists at Columbus University, published an article, in 1966, in the Nation Magazine, entitled “The Weight of the Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty” (thenation.com). In this article, they charged that the ruling classes used welfare to weaken the poor, and by providing a social safety net, the rich doused the fires of revolution. Poor people can advance only when “the rest of society is afraid of them,” Cloward told The New York Times on September 27, 1970 (shanonbrooks.com). Their idea was to see the collapse of the welfare system and, in turn, ignite a political and financial crisis that would rock the nation. At this time, the rest of society would accept the demands of the poor. (Note the similarity with the present-day situation; substitute African Americans for the poor, seeking to use a crisis to provoke a social change.) Cloward and Piven recruited a militant black organizer named George Wiley to lead their new movement. Their methods, which at times involved violence, initially proved effective. But, eventually, there was a backlash that ended in President Bill Clinton’s time, which led to “the end of welfare as we know it.” Most Americans, to this day, have never heard of Cloward or Piven, even though New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani attempted to expose them in the late 1990s, accusing them of deliberate economic sabotage.

New organizations rose up, such as Acorn, with the issue of “voting rights.” These groups received support from people like George Soros (another story). Now, let’s look at the playbook that developed from Cloward and Piven’s ideas. Although incorrectly attributed by many to Saul Alinsky, this much is true: the actual plan is real. It was inspired by Alinsky and enumerated by Cloward and Piven. Some people will reject this list; others will say some of the steps are desirable goals. Nonetheless, you can quickly see how they fit into the socialistic goals of far-left politicians and others today.

THE 8 STEPS TO CREATE A SOCIALIST STATE

[if !supportLists]1. [endif]Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people.

[if !supportLists]2. [endif]Poverty – Increase the poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

[if !supportLists]3. [endif]Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way, you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

[if !supportLists]4. [endif]Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the government. That way, you are able to create a police state.

[if !supportLists]5. [endif]Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income), because that will make them fully dependent on the government.

[if !supportLists]6. [endif]Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.

[if !supportLists]7. [endif]Religion – Remove the belief in God from the government and school because the people need to believe only government knows what is best for the people.

[if !supportLists]8. [endif]Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. Eliminate middle class. This causes more discontent, and it will be easier to tax the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Do you remember the saying “Don’t waste a crisis”? That is exactly what has happened in 2020, especially as more than one crisis has arisen. The COVID-19 CRISIS pandemic has affected the lives of everyone. It has been 100 years since we’ve had anything like it. Tragically, people have died, and hospitals and the health care system have sought to overcome it. It has wrecked the economy, which was doing incredibly well before the pandemic. GEORGE FLOYD’S DEATH, while in the custody of police officers in Minneapolis in May, set off a firestorm of protests that have, in certain places, resulted in violence and destruction of property. In turn, this has resulted in issues related to police reform, law and order, etc. Now put these two crises together, and people, both in the community and in politics, have sought to promote wholesale changes in society. Not just ‘defunding the police,’ but more radical socialist goals for society. Remember, Black Lives Matter, so quickly endorsed by individuals and organizations, was founded by Marxist communists who embraced socialist beliefs and positions.

WHAT AM I SAYING? Simply, that there are some who are taking advantage of the current crises in America to promote far-reaching socialist goals. Let me be clear. This is not the majority of the protestors. The extreme left-wing is not the majority of people within the Democrat Party. Possibly 30%, based on the votes for and against the Party platform at the recent DNC Convention. Nonetheless, it is a very determined body of people who are hell-bent on seeing America become a full-blown socialist nation. VALLEY OF DECISION: In Joel 3:14, the Word speaks about, “Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near, in the valley of decision.” That is America today. We are in the valley of decision, and we have decide which direction the nation will go- to become a full-blown socialist nation, or hold fast to our present free enterprise system. There is a spiritual war going on for the soul of this nation, and we need to be praying regarding the future of this land. The next ten weeks will determine the answer to the question: “Where Are We Headed?”
