Meet Our Staff....

Pastor Joe Dokken

I have been serving in full time ministry since 1991 and accepted the Senior Pastor position at Hawthorne Assembly in the spring of 2015.  My wife, Janet, and I have 3 adult children, Aaron and Katie Dokken of Butler Illinois, Lauren Burg (Dokken) and her husband Matt of St Paul, Minnesota, and Tim who recently graduated from North Central University and is working in the Twin Cities.  We have been married for 35 years, and are looking forward to being grandparents times 3 in 2020. Janet is a gifted musician, worship leader and loves anything green and growing.  We enjoy spending time outdoors or around a camp fire with our children and grandkids. World travel and missions are key motivators for me, yet the opportunity to hear the stories of others, in their journey with Christ, is just as rewarding. Chicken Mahkani is my favorite meal, with Chicken Scallopini a close 2nd.

A favorite Bible verse is Philippians 2:13 “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.”

Youth Pastor Ben Mighton

I was born and raised in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada. I grew up in a Christian home and gave my life to Jesus at a young age. I felt called to ministry after high school when I was serving at Lighthouse Community Church as a leader in the youth group. In September 2013 I answered the call, and went down to the Florida School of Discipleship in Fort Meyers, Florida, where I studied and learned through many different ministry opportunities and hands on learning. In April 2016 I married Lydia and graduated from the Florida School of Discipleship in May 2016. I was hired as the youth pastor in September of 2016 after serving at Assembly Park Bible Camp during the summer. My passion is teaching students, training and equipping them to go out and be the light of Jesus to their friends and family by sharing how Jesus loves us. I enjoy outdoor activities and working on different projects.

Church Secretary Hannah Hazard

I started working at the church in April 2018. I've had years of experience working in the administration field and it's very refreshing to work for God rather than a making a CEO richer. It's a joy to use the abilities The Lord has given me to help serve Him and our congregation.

In my personal life I'm an avid reader, dog-mom, and lover of music, theater, my husband Alan, and Jesus. I'm also very passionate about my other job with Trades of Hope that allows me to help empower women around the world out of poverty and human trafficking.
